MAGIC BALLOON – A TOY WITH A MAGICALLY LONG TRADITION THAT HAS DELIGHTED PEOPLE OF ALL AGES FOR OVER 50 YEARS
Our success-story in the world of toys began with a very simple idea:
Helmut Cohn, like many other scientists, experimented with various chemicals in his kitchen in Hamburg after the war. Though his original motivations have been lost in time, he successfully invented a paste that could be inflated via a straw from raw materials found in hairsprays and food wrappers/foils.
BUBBLE BALL was born. The product was colored with various food colors and packed into tubes and sold in department stores, at fairs, and street sales at special events.
R. Veigel GmbH bought up Dr. Cohn’s factory in the early seventies and began the wholesale of the toy product domestically and abroad. Shortly thereafter the name of the product was changed to MAGIC BALLOON in order to deal with international distribution, potential language barriers, and to ease the patenting process of the name and any affiliated images. The original blowpipe was quickly improved to incorporate a check valve that only allows unidirectional airflow and inhibits air from escaping back through the pipe. This innovation is a major driver in the international success of MAGIC BALLOON which still provides children and adults around the world with endless entertainment. Even in China, the world’s leading toy producer, parents prefer the German toy “MAGIC BALLOON” over similar products due to:
- of regular testing in accordance to the European toy safety standard (DIN EN 71)
- it promotes children’s creativity
- it’s therapeutic application
- of its nonflammable properties
- it’s biodegradable
- it’s NOT a pollutant
